Dear Colleagues
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the V International Workshop «Thermal Methods for Enhanced Oil Recovery: Laboratory Testing, Simulation and Oilfields Applications» ThEOR2022, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, November 3-5, 2022.
Globally, oil production from hard-to-recovery and unconventional resources as well as mature fields using different enhanced oil recovery methods especially thermal EOR is rapidly growing. In this regard, development of innovative techniques and technologies, which allow to improve the efficiency and profitability of such oil fields development, is of a great importance, that’s why scientific results and discussions are essential in this domain.
ThEOR2022 as an international platform dates back to 2016 and is held in various oil capitals around the world. This year ThEOR2022 will take place in Baku. In 2022, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University will bring together key researchers and professionals from the industry, R&D centers and academic institutes to share experiences, perspectives, insights and the latest developments in thermal methods for EOR from all over world.
In order to promote the international academic and industrial exchanges about thermal recovery technologies and promote scientific and technical advances in IOR/EOR ThEOR2022 is planning to hold in mixed format (face-to-face and online) while observing all applicable safety measures.
The workshop’s program contains three days of plenary and key-note lectures, technical and poster sessions on cutting edge issues related to petroleum industry. At the same time, we tried to keep the balance between traditional and emerging fields, fundamentals and applications, modeling and experiment, academic interests and industry needs.

CULTURAL PROGRAM
On the first day of the conference (3 rd November) at the end of the day, Welcome Party for
participants of ThEOR2022 will be organized. It will start at 18:30 (after one hour from official
session) and continue for one and a half hours. Azerbaijan national music and dance will be
performed during the party. For our dear guests snack buffet, soft drinks will be served during
the party.
In the last day of the conference Excursion-City Tour around Baku is planned. After lunch, the
busses will serve the guests to join the city tour.

General Information:
Workshop will be held in mixed format (face to face and online).
Language: The official languages for the scientific program and all the business of the meeting is English. Abstracts will be accepted in English.
Plenary lectures are limited to 45 minutes; key-note lectures – 30 minutes; oral presentations — 15 minutes (including questions and discussion). Recommended poster size is A0 (vertical).

Participants who want to present oral or poster presentation on ThEOR2022 should prepare the abstract of the work according to the Abstract template, which can be downloaded below.

Publication of papers in Special Issue in Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering (IF=5.168, Q1)
After the conference all speakers will be able to submit full-length papers of their works in a Special issue of the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering. Details of the submission procedure will be announced during the ThEOR2022.
