Dear Colleagues
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the VI International Workshop «Thermal Methods for Enhanced Oil Recovery: Laboratory Testing, Simulation and Oilfields Applications» ThEOR2023, which will be held in Ankara, Türkiye, November 20-22, 2023.
ThEOR-2023 as an international platform dates back to 2016 and is held in various oil capitals worldwide. This year, ThEOR-2023 will take place in Ankara-Türkiye. In 2023, Middle East Technical University will bring together key researchers and professionals from the industry, R&D centers, and academic institutes to share experiences, perspectives, insights, and the latest developments in thermal methods for EOR from all over the world.
In order to promote the international academic and industrial exchanges about thermal recovery technologies and promote scientific and technical advances in IOR/EOR ThEOR2023 is planned to be held in hybrid format (face-to-face and online) while observing all applicable safety measures.
The conference program contains three days of plenary and key-note lectures, technical and poster sessions on cutting edge issues related to petroleum industry. At the same time, the conference focuses to keep the balance between traditional and emerging fields, fundamentals and applications, modeling and experimentation, academic interests and industry needs.

CULTURAL PROGRAM
On the first day of the conference (November 20) at the end of the day for participants of ThEOR2023 will be organized the Welcome Party. It will start at 19:00 in in METU Culture and Convention Center
On the second day of the conference (November 21) at the end of the day for participants of ThEOR2023 will be organized the Conference Dinner. It will start at 19:00 at Lake Eymir.
*The further details of cultural program will be announced later.
REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACTS
General information:
ThEOR2023 is planned to be held in hybrid mixed format (face-to-face and online).
Language: The official languages for the scientific program and all the business of the meeting is English. Abstracts will be accepted in English.
Lectures: Plenary lectures are limited to 40 minutes and oral presentations are limited to 20 minutes (including questions and discussion).
Poster: Recommended poster size is A0 (vertical).

Abstracts submission:
— Participants who want to present oral or poster presentation on ThEOR2023 should prepare the abstract of the work according to the Abstract template, which can be downloaded below.

— Please send your abstracts to theorconf2023@metu.edu.tr before October 27, 2023.
— Abstracts will be reviewed by Organizing committee and confirmation of acceptance will be sent till November 3, 2023.
— Deadline of registration – November 3, 2023.

— After the conference all speakers will be able to submit full-length papers of their works in a Special issue of the Petroleum Science and Technology. Details of the submission procedure will be announced during the ThEOR2023.

All conference participants must pay the conference registration fee. For each paper/poster, at least one author must attend and pay the registration fee.
